Active Noise Canceling (ANC) automatically detects a number of typical user situations (eg moving in a crowd, traveling by public transport, etc.) and optimizes its function for undisturbed listening. The detection microphone detects ambient noise and allows the ANC to send a wave against the wavelength of these noises, interfering with these ambient sounds.

The unique setting of ANC is the so-called "Awareness Mode" which dampens ambient noise to an acceptable level, but does not completely cancel it, ideal for use in situations where you do not want to be distracted by the overall noise, but also want to keep the opportunity to be addressed.
